Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American Actor, best known as a character on the popular TV show 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. From his early college days, Meloni was interested in acting. He then studied at his home institution, the University of Colorado at Boulder. While he was active in film and TV and on stage, his appearances on the smaller screen are what brought him much fame. He can play two characters, one from the perspective of the police as well as the other. That's what is what makes him so famous. He was the serial killer role in the first TV show he appeared in as well as later portrayed an NYPD detective. The small screen performances of his are rewarded with numerous Emmy Awards nominations and PRISM Awards. He is famous for his blue piercing eyes, which have turned into the trademark of his character and has helped him in portraying tough characters with a sense of humor. People's magazine's 2006 list of Sexiest Men Alive included him.
